The Internal Audit Department released their audit report of the Crime Statistics.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) perform periodic audits of Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) entities. TPD received audits from the FDLE in July 2007 and the FBI in February 2009. The objective of the FDLE audit was to perform “a review of the accuracy and completeness of Uniform Crime Report statistics submitted to the state and a review of what processes and procedures are in place to ensure that data is correct.” The report’s conclusions were very positive (0.4% classification error rate) and found no evidence of intentional misclassification. The FBI’s UCR Quality Assurance Review report detailed ten (10) criteria in its Records Management Assessment and twenty-six (26) criteria in its Administrative Interview. All results were positive.
