The Internal Audit Department released their audit report of the Parks & Recreation - Planning, Design and Natural Resources Division.

The Planning, Design and Natural Resources Division (Division) of Parks and Recreation provides the planning, design, construction management, and reporting functions for capital improvements and renovations to new and existing facilities. Additionally, organizationally, the Division includes a Maintenance Support and Forestry Teams.

These activities ensure compliance with the Comprehensive Plan, Strategic Plans, Mission Statements, and Needs and Recommendations. Facility Maintenance is charged with inspection of playground equipment, outside facility maintenance, irrigation, and aquatics operations. The Natural Resources section conducts regulatory purview regarding proposals associated with development and conservation. Natural Resources and the Forestry Section partner in the stewardship of trees and the natural resources within the City's public areas and often provide environmental and safety educational sessions.
