The Internal Audit Department released their audit report of the TPD Communications Bureau.

The Communications Bureau is responsible for providing interactive communications between the public and police officers in the field. The Tampa Police Department Communications Bureau is one (1) of the seven (7) designated Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) for the Hillsborough County, Emergency 911 system. This responsibility includes the initial receipt of all police, fire, and medical emergency calls that are made within the city limits of Tampa. Additionally, the PSAP designation mandates that the Bureau maintains a high quality of service that is prescribed by the universal rules associated with 911 Emergency Service.
