Bomb threat to Tampa bank proves to be false alarm


At 11:14 a.m., the corporate office of Fifth Third Bank contacted the 911 dispatch center to report that someone called a bomb threat in to the branch at 201 East Kennedy Boulevard. Tampa Police and the FBI evacuated the bank and utilized bomb technicians and bomb sniffing K-9s to search the branch office. It was cleared just before 1 p.m. and employees have returned to work.
