A three-hour Fix-A-Leak workshop is available at no cost to qualified City of Tampa Water Department customers through a partnership with Hillsborough County Public Schools. The workshop will provide information to help participants identify and repair leaking toilets, dripping faucets and leaking toilet and sink stop valves.

“Identifying and repairing leaks as quickly as possible is one of the simple things our customers can do to manage their water utility costs and help us use our community’s water resource as efficiently as possible,” said Brad Baird, Tampa Water Department Director. “We are especially pleased to add these workshops to the 8-week home repair classes we already have in place for our customers.”

The first workshop is being offered on Monday, April 14, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hillsborough Technical Education Centers (HiTEC) Erwin campus on Hillsborough Avenue. Additional class dates between now and October are May 5, June 9, June 23, July 21, August 25 and September 8.

Tuition for workshop participation will be covered by vouchers. To request a participation voucher, interested City of Tampa water department customers should call (813) 274-8121, option#5. One non-transferable voucher is available per qualified City of Tampa utility account holder on a first-come, first served basis. Each workshop is limited to no more than 12 participants. Vouchers for future workshops will be issued only for the next workshop on the calendar.

Once a voucher is obtained, registration for the Fix-A-Leak workshop can be completed on-line (click on part-time courses), or by calling Erwin between 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. Mon-Thurs or
8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Fridays at (813) 769-5180.
