Buckhorn and City of Tampa Honors One Year Anniversary of Pulse Tragedy

Today Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and the City of Tampa honors the one year anniversary of Orlando’s Pulse Nightclub tragedy by flying flags at half-staff and adding the pride flag above Old City Hall we will also light the fountains and trees in Curtis Hixon Park rainbow colors. Today at 9:00 a.m. Mayor Buckhorn will join Clearwater Mayor Cretekos at One Blood at 4041 W. Kennedy Blvd to donate blood and encourage others to do so.

 
The City of Tampa also released the video “Dear Orlando” on Friday to show our never ending support of the City Beautiful.

 
“One year after this horrific event only confirms my words following last year’s tragedy, ‘Orlando is a strong and resilient community’ and has joined together to overcome this immeasurable loss,” said Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn. “Tampa stands united with Orlando and will remain steadfast partners to combat hate of any sort. Love will always be more powerful than hate.”
