Buckhorn Appoints Christine Glover as Internal Auditor

Mayor Bob Buckhorn announced today that he will appoint Christine Glover to be the City of Tampa's Internal Audit Director. Glover currently serves as the Director of Administration for Governor Haley of South Carolina’s Office of Executive Policy and Programs.

"Christine has an outstanding resume, and embodies the type of public servant that I want in city government. She will focus on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring that all of the City's policies and procedures are being followed. I am confident that she will serve the taxpayers of Tampa well," said Mayor Bob Buckhorn.

In her current role as part of Governor Haley's administration, Glover oversees a department with a budget in excess of $100 million and focuses on administrative and financial services, including small and minority owned business issues and assistance to abused and neglected children. Prior to her current role, she served in the South Carolina Department of Revenue as the Internal Audit Director. In addition to her 25 years of career experience, Glover also served in the South Carolina National Guard holding the rank of Colonel.

Internal Audit Director reports to Mayor Bob Buckhorn. Glover's starting salary will be $100,000 and she will begin employment on July 8, 2013. She will initially serve in an interim capacity until she can establish residency within the City of Tampa at which time her nomination will go before Tampa City Council for confirmation.
