Calvin Taylor Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Yellow Jackets Little League Recognition
The City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Calvin Taylor Park Renovation project. The ceremony will take place on Friday, March 8th at 3:30 pm at Calvin Taylor Park, located at 611 W. Indiana Ave. Tampa, FL 33603. The renovation project includes the addition of a 34 vehicle parking lot with lights, new sidewalks, dugouts, fencing, full field irrigation, new inclement weather shelter, and upgrades to the concession. Additionally, the Tampa Bay Rays Baseball Foundation has generously provided 10 hitting stations, two bullpens with portable pitching mounds, a new batting cage complete with turf and netting, equipment storage, a portable pitching mound for the field, custom branded windscreens for the dugouts and center field fence, and new baseball / softball equipment for the youth participants
Calvin Taylor Park will now be the home field of the Yellow Jackets Little League. The addition of Little League in this Tampa Heights Neighborhood, will give children near the field an opportunity to play ball, almost literally, in their own backyard. The Tampa Bay Rays Baseball Foundation has committed baseball equipment for the League, as well as help promoting and encouraging youth to sign up via their various media outlets.
