"The Federal Courthouse is one of downtown's most iconic buildings. It will be the cornerstone in a re-energized Zack Street 'Avenue of the Arts' and provide a gateway to Curtis Hixon Park and the Riverwalk," said Mayor Bob Buckhorn. "I would like to thank these companies for submitting proposals and look forward to making a decision in the near future"

The five companies who submitted proposals to the City were 21c Museum Hotels, The Giunta Group, Ltd., HRI Properties, Impact Properties, and Tampa Hotel Partners, LLC.

The Request For Proposals (RFP) was released on November 8, 2011 and specifically targeted hotel development. The Classic Federal Courthouse is located on North Florida Avenue in the heart of the Central Business District.
