Police Patience Paid Off With Downtown Demonstration
The unified security coalition funneled protesters through the streets for more than two hours. It all started at 9 p.m. yesterday, when 75-100 demonstrators gathered in Lykes Gaslight Park. For about 30 minutes they taunted deputies, officers and troopers with donuts on make shift fishing poles. When they didn't take the bait, the group began two hours of a cat and mouse game with the crowd management team. Several times they stopped in intersections even laying down and refusing to move for 20-30 minutes. Law enforcement never lost their cool. In the end, the group marched back to its camp behind the Army Navy Store.
