The March on the RNC ended successfully. Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor and Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Colonel Ed Duncan will answer questions about today’s events during the scheduled news briefing. See previous release below.

Joint Information Center - 2012 Republican National Convention UPDATE #6

WHEN: Monday 8/27-Thursday 8/30 at 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

WHERE: Tampa Police Department's Downtown Headquarters, 411 North Franklin Street, Tampa, 33602

Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Chief Jane Castor are also holding briefings beginning on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in the Executive Conference Room on the 4th Floor of the Tampa Convention Center located at 333 South Franklin Street.

WHO: The RNC related activity at the time of the briefing will determine who will speak; this includes Chief Jane Castor, Sheriff David Gee, Fire Chief Tom Forward and Emergency Management officials, representatives from the Coast Guard, FBI, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Department of Transportation and other agencies.

There is no parking available at headquarters for the briefing. One satellite truck will be positioned near the building and CNN will provide a one hour satellite window during each briefing. It can be down linked at the following coordinates.

If there is space available, you can park in the City of Tampa lot at 420 East Jackson Street from 7 a.m. - 2 a.m. for a $10 charge. This lot is one block from TPD headquarters. The contact for obtaining parking at this location is
