City of Tampa Mayor’s Hispanic Advisory Council Now Accepting Applications for the “Matilda Martinez Garcia Leadership Award”

The City of Tampa Mayor’s Hispanic Advisory Council is now accepting nominations for the annual Matilda Martinez Garcia Leadership Award. The recipient of the award will be announced and recognized at the 19th Annual Latinos Unidos Luncheon on May 17, 2017, at the Hilton Downtown Tampa Hotel.

 

The award honors those persons or organizations that make extraordinary contributions to the Hispanic community of Hillsborough County. Established in 2013, this award is in honor of its first recipient Matilda Martinez Garcia, a respected Community Leader and charter member of the Council, established in 1983. Other past recipients of this award include Mr. Rafael Martinez Ybor and Dr. Luz Paredes Lono.

 

To nominate an individual or organization for this award, please download the nomination form at http://www.tampagov.net/hispanic-advisory-council. Complete the form outlining the nature and breadth of the nominee’s contributions and provide two letters of support. The deadline for nominations is Friday, February 17, 2017.
