The City of Tampa Solid Waste and Environmental Program Management and Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful (KTBB), is partnering with Valet Living, a local doorstep recycling and trash service company headquartered in Tampa, to welcome CNN Young Hero and Valet Living Brand Ambassador, Ryan Hickman.  The eight-year-old recycling champion, Ryan Hickman, and his team, will be taking part in the Great American Cleanup and encouraging recycling efforts.

The annual Great American Cleanup, hosted by KTBB and other Keep America Beautiful affiliates, activates thousands of volunteers to beautify our local community and encourage recycling.  This year’s event takes place on Saturday, April 28, 2018, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM throughout Tampa Bay.  Ryan’s team will be at the Harbour Island cleanup location and will later continue their education efforts in Cotanchobee Park (601 Old Water St, Tampa, FL).

“We are excited to welcome Ryan.  It’s impressive that, at such a young age, Ryan has not only recognized the importance of recycling but is so active in educating others.  Our Department is focusing education efforts in the rapidly growing multi-family residential community in the coming year,” said Department Director, Mark Wilfalk.

Ryan’s simple, yet powerful message, “Recycling helps the earth, people, plants, animals and other living things,” reminds us that we all benefit by recycling and, consequently, all have a responsibility.
