City of Tampa Receives Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
The City of Tampa was recently awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
This Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and it’s attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“It’s no surprise our Revenue & Finance team is being recognized by GFOA for their expertise in presenting the City’s annual financial statements,” said Mayor Buckhorn. “Our team is comprised of some of the nation’s top staff who work day in and day out to make sure we have our fiscal ducks in a row. We appreciate their diligence and attention to detail each year.”
Chief Financial Officer Sonya Little added, “It’s an honor to be recognized by the GFOA. I am fortunate to work with such a skilled team of professionals who are committed to providing the highest level of accountability and transparency through financial reporting.”
The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The GOFA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals.
