City of Tampa Revises Solid Waste Collection In Observance of the Labor Day Holiday

City of Tampa offices will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2016, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.  Customers scheduled for collection service or needing access to the McKay Bay Transfer Station on Monday, September 5, 2016 will be affected.  The revised collection schedule is as follows:

  • Residential accounts: There will be no collection on Monday, September 5, 2016.  Regular garbage collection service will resume the next scheduled service day (Thursday, September 8, 2016).  Recycling and yard waste collection will resume on Monday, September 12, 2016.
  • Commercial accounts: There will be no collection on Monday, September 5, 2016. 
    • Roll-off, compactor and dumpster customers- Collection will run one day behind for the remainder of the week.  Regular service schedules will resume on Monday, September 12, 2016. 
    • Curbside cart customers- Service for commercial garbage customers with 95/65 gallon cart service will resume on the next scheduled service day (Thursday, September 8, 2016).  Recycling cart service will resume on Monday, September 12, 2016.
    • All other cart customers- Collection will run one day behind for the remainder of the week.  Normal service schedules will resume on Monday, September 12, 2016. 
  • McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2016 and will re-open on Tuesday, September 6, 2016.
  • There will be no SWEEP service the week of September 5, 2016.  Normal SWEEP schedule will resume on Monday, September 12, 2016.
