City of Tampa Revises Solid Waste Collection In Observance of the New Year’s Holiday
City of Tampa offices will be closed on Monday, January 2, 2017, in observance of the New Year’s holiday. Customers scheduled for collection service or needing access to the McKay Bay Transfer Station will be affected. The revised collection schedule is as follows:
- Residential accounts: There will be no collection on Monday, January 2, 2017. Regular garbage collection service will resume the next scheduled service day (Thursday, January 5, 2017). Recycling and yard waste collection will resume on Monday, January 9, 2017.
- Commercial accounts: Normal service collection on Monday, January 2, 2017 for Roll-off, Compactors and Dumpster customers.
Curbside cart customers- Service for commercial garbage customers with 95/65 gallon cart service will resume on the next scheduled service day (Thursday, January 5, 2017). Recycling cart service will resume on Monday, January 9, 2017.
All other cart customers- Collection will run one day behind for the remainder of the week. Normal service schedules will resume on Monday, January 9, 2017.
- McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House will be closed on Monday, January 2, 2017 and will re-open on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
The City of Tampa Christmas tree collection service will run Monday, December 26, 2016 through Monday, January 9, 2017. Residents are asked to remove all decorations and lights, cut tree limbs to four feet lengths, bundle, and place at curbside on their regularly scheduled yard waste collection day.
