City of Tampa Revises Solid Waste Collection Schedule for the Independence Day Holiday

City of Tampa offices will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2016 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. As a result, customers scheduled for collection service or, needing access to the McKay Bay Transfer Station on Monday, July 4, 2016 will be affected. The revised holiday collection schedule is as follows:

  • Residential accounts: There will be no collection on Monday, July 4, 2016. Normal garbage service will resume on the next scheduled service day (Thursday, July 7, 2016). Recycling and yard waste collection will resume on Monday, July 11, 2016.
  • Commercial accounts: There will be no collection on Monday, July 4, 2016. 
    • Roll-off, compactor and dumpster customers - Collection will run one day behind for the remainder of the week. Normal service schedules will resume on Monday, July 11, 2016. 
    • Curbside cart customers - Service for commercial garbage customers with 95/65 gallon cart service will resume on the next scheduled service day (Thursday, July 7, 2016). Recycling cart service will resume on Monday, July 11, 2016.
    • All other cart customers - Collection will run one day behind for the remainder of the week. Normal service schedules will resume on Monday, July 11, 2016.
  • McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2016 and will re-open on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
  • There will be no SWEEP service the week of July 4, 2016. Normal SWEEP schedule will resume on Monday, July 11, 2016.
