City of Tampa Solid Waste Department Revises Collection Schedule for Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday

City of Tampa offices will be closed on January 16, 2017 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  As a result, customers scheduled for collection service or, needing access to the McKay Bay Transfer Station on Monday, January 16, 2017 will be affected.  The revised holiday collection schedule is as follows:

  • Residential accounts: There will be no collection on Monday, January 16, 2017.  Normal garbage service will resume on the next scheduled service day, which is Thursday, January 19, 2017, and recycling and yard waste collection will resume on Monday, January 23, 2017.
  • Commercial accounts: There will be no collection on Monday, January 16, 2017.
  • Roll-off, compactor and dumpster customers- Collection will run one day behind for the remainder of the week and run through Saturday, January 21, 2017. Normal service schedules will resume on Monday, January 23, 2017. 
  • Curbside cart customers- Service for commercial garbage customers with 95/65 gallon cart service will resume on the next scheduled service day (Thursday, January 19, 2017).  Recycling cart service will resume on Monday, January 23, 2017.
  • All other cart customers- Collection will run one day behind for the remainder of the week.  Normal service schedules will resume on Monday, January 23, 2017. 
  • McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House will be closed on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  Normal service will resume on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
