City of Tampa Utility Account Holders To Have Access to New Online Features for Account Management

To provide better and more timely customer service, Tampa is replacing its 27-year-old utility customer information system. 

“Water, wastewater and solid waste customers will have new payment features, enhanced communication opportunities, and more,” said Brad Baird, Administrator, Public Works and Utility Services. “We believe our account holders will agree that the Self Service Customer Portal feature of the new system is a positive change. With a single log-in, they can see graphs of their water use, request service changes, request payment arrangements and more. We’re excited to be able to provide these upgraded options to our customers.”

 

Along with the new account management features, all utility account holders will be assigned a new 7-digit account number to replace their current account ID. 

 

To establish and manage their utility account online with the new customer portal, utility customers will need to go online to 

http://utilities.tampagov.net

log on, set up a password and establish account preferences.

 

Along with new online features, additional options are being added for account holders who pay their City of Tampa utility account online.  In addition to Visa and Mastercard, online payments can be made with Discover and American Express cards.

Here is what account holders need to know:

  • Your new account number will be listed on your next City of Tampa utility bill.  We suggest that you make a note of that number to assist with establishing and using your online-account.
  • Account holders who use electronic fund transfer to make automatic payments do not need to take any action. Utility payments will continue to be drafted from their designated bank account.
  • Account holders who use their bank bill pay feature will need to update their utility account number on their banking website to ensure prompt payment posting and avoid delays and possible late fees.
  • Account holders with more than one account will be able to link the accounts online for easier online access and management of each individual account.
