The City of Tampa is set to enter into a contract with Taborelli Construction to repair and renovate Williams Park Pool in East Tampa.

"Williams Park Pool is important to the community and to the families who live in East Tampa. That's why I am committed to repairing the pool and making it a fun, safe place for everyone," said Mayor Bob Buckhorn. "Now that we have our contractor in place, I am looking forward to the grand opening celebrations this summer."

The total project is estimated to cost $1.3 million. Work will include repair and replacement of the pool deck and shell, new pool operating equipment, and operating and safety improvements to meet current health department codes. Repairs or improvements will also be made to the existing bathhouse building to provide ADA accessibility.

Tampa City Council will vote on the contract with Taborelli Construction on Thursday, December 20, 2012. Once Council approves the contract, construction is expected to begin in the new year. Completion and reopening of the pool is expected later this summer.
