CTTV Moves Streaming Services to Mobile-Friendly Livestream
In an effort to make its programming even more accessible to city residents, as well as those outside of Tampa, City of Tampa Television (CTTV) is now streaming its programming via Livestream. Livestream is a video live streaming platform that allows customers to play content via the web, or by using mobile devices through a free app that can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store or Google Play.
“The City of Tampa is forward thinking in every department,” said Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn. “Whether you need to obtain a permit, report a pothole, or in this case, access government programming on your mobile device; our goal is efficiency, convenience and immediacy.”
In addition to viewing CTTV live on the Internet or mobile device, Livestream offers convenient DVR capabilities, including the pausing of live programming and limited rewinding of shows. You can “like” videos that you have enjoyed through Livestream, as well as share programming using social media.
CTTV produces monthly shows, public meetings, news conferences, and special event programs – all of which will be available in real time and on most platforms and devices. The station was a leader among its peers when it introduced live streaming capabilities on the web over a decade ago.
Accessing CTTV’s streaming service is easy. Simply visit the CTTV website at www.tampagov.net/cttv and click on the “Webcast” link. For mobile devices, download the free Livestream app and search for City of Tampa.
CTTV can be found locally on channel 15 on Verizon FiOS and on channel 640 on Bright House Networks. For questions or problems related to the live webcast, visit http://help.livestream.com/ or click on the link provided on the CTTV webcast page.
