2nd Update on Early Morning Shooting at Interstate Lounge

Wanted Suspect: Jimmy Lee Cruz, H/M, DOB: 9/25/1977, 10334 Chadbourne Drive, Tampa

Suspect Vehicle: A newer model red Dodge Charger

Tampa Police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of Jimmy Lee Cruz for the murder that took place at the Interstate Lounge early this morning. TPD's SWAT team entered Cruz's home at 10334 Chadbourne Drive this morning in search of him, but the home he shares with his girlfriend was empty. An extensive search for Cruz is underway. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about Cruz is urged to call the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130.

The incident started with a large crowd arguing at the Interstate Lounge on Nebraska Avenue just after 1 am. The crowd entered the parking lot where the disagreement continued. The victim was not involved in the argument, but was trying to break up the disturbance. The suspect went to his vehicle, took out a gun and then shot the victim. He fled from the scene in his red Dodge Charger. He is the only suspect in the case.

Update on Overnight Homicide

Victim: Walter "JJ" Revear, B/M, DOB: 10/20/1982, 401 West Columbus Drive, Tampa

The Tampa Police SWAT team just entered a house at 10334 Chadbourne Drive in search of a murder suspect. The house was empty. The search for the suspect is ongoing at this time. The suspect is wanted for the murder that occurred this morning at 1:12 am outside of the Interstate Lounge. Detectives have notified next of kin in the murder.

Tampa Police Investigate Homicide

Location: 9403 N. Nebraska Ave.
Business: Interstate Lounge

Date/Time: 05/18/11, 1:12 a.m.

Victim: B/M in his 20's, Next of kin has not yet been notified.

Suspect#1: B/M, mid 20's, 5'9"-10", slim build.
Last Seen Wearing: red shirt and a black hat.

Suspect#2: B/M, mid 20's, 5'10", slim build.
Last Seen wearing: A White T-shirt.

Suspect Vehicle: A newer model Red Dodge Charger, 4 door.

Officer's responded to a 911 call of a shooting at the listed address. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim lying in the parking lot and that the victim had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the upper body.

This apparently began with an argument inside of the bar, after a drink had been thrown at an individual. The subjects then exited the lounge and a fight then ensued in the parking lot. One of the suspects then produced a handgun and shot the victim in the upper body. The two listed suspects then fled east on Wilma St., in a newer model Red Dodge Charger. Fire Rescue arrived and pronounced the victim deceased. Detectives are now investigating this offense.
