Detectives Investigating Two Overnight Shootings

Tampa Police detectives are investigating two overnight shootings that do not appear related. In both cases, detectives are working leads and they do not appear to be random acts of violence.

Shooting 1:
WHERE: 8402 North Edison Street, Tampa
WHEN: 7/14/2014, 1:21 a.m.
VICTIM 1: Antonio Davis, 8/10/1982, B/M, at large address
VICTIM 2: Dexter Price, 4/30/1983, B/M, at large address
DETAILS: Tampa Police officers responded to the area of Waters Avenue and Edison Avenue after an officer heard gun shots. When officers arrived, they found victim 1 and he was transported to a local hospital. Victim 2 was located at Waters Avenue and Florida Avenue and he was also transported to a local hospital. At this time, both victims appear to have suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Shooting 2:
WHERE: 5110 North 40th Street
WHEN: 7/14/2014, 1:38 a.m.
VICTIM: Rodrick Randale Alexander, 10/14/1981, B/M, 8614 39th Street North, Tampa
DETAILS: Officers responded to the Sugar Shack after receiving a shots fired call. Within minutes of the call, officers were notified that a gunshot victim was dropped off at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Officers responded and determined this was the victim from the Sugar Shack. The victim died from his injuries.
