Tampa Police detectives are searching for a suspect who robbed a 7-11 store and threatened to shoot the clerks. The suspect, who is a regular customer, came inside the store and went to use the restroom. He walked around the store until all the customers left and then he asked the clerks if they sold cans of beer. The suspect grabbed two 18-pack cases of Budweiser and walked up to the front counter. He told the clerks he had a “.357” gun and threatened to kill them if they followed him or tried to stop him. The suspect was holding a case of beer in each hand when he walked out of the store. He did not display a weapon. After the robbery, one of the clerks went to the door and saw the suspect on foot heading eastbound out of the parking area.
According to the store clerks, the suspect has not been a problem in the past and is usually intoxicated when he comes to the store. However, he appeared to be sober the night of the robbery.
It is possible that the suspect lives in or around the area where the robbery took place. Anyone with information is asked to call the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130.
