Detectives Searching for Bank Robbery Suspect

Detectives believe same suspect who robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in Jackson, Mississippi, robbed the Pilot Bank in Tampa. The Jackson, Mississippi Wells Fargo Bank was robbed on April 9, 2011. The detective on the Tampa case remembered a bulletin that was emailed from the Jackson, Mississippi Police Department and recalled that the cases were similar. The Tampa Police Department is working with the Jackson Police Department to identify the suspect.

WHEN: April 13, 2011, 12 p.m.
WHERE: Pilot Bank, 2901 Fowler Avenue East, Tampa
SUSPECT: W/M, 5’10” – 6’1”, Clean cut short brown haircut, black polo short sleeve shirt, blue jeans, black backpack
VEHICLE: Silver 4 door. Chevrolet, newer model
DETAILS: The suspect walked into the bank with a bag, walked up to the teller and presented a note demanding money. He also told the clerk that he had a gun. When the clerk said she had no cash in her drawer, the suspect became angry and left the bank. He was seen driving from the parking lot north on North 30th Street. No one was injured.
