Detectives Searching for Hit and Run Suspect Witness describes unique suspect vehicle

Freddie Alonso died last night as a result of his injuries from the hit and run. Detectives are still searching for the unique vehicle involved in the crash. The vehicle will have hood and front end damage. The vehicle is similar to the one in this photo.
WHEN: 5/23/2013, 7:39 a.m.
WHERE: North Tampania & West Lemon Street
VICTIM: Freddie J. Alonso 12/26/68, W/M, 12502 Trailblazer Loop, Apt. 101, Tampa
SUSPECT: W/M, balding, thin build, 40s
VEHICLE: One witness described a dark garnet red pearl, full size pickup truck, possibly a Dodge. This color of truck was only manufactured in 2000 and 2001 (the photograph is a similar looking vehicle). Another witness described a maroon full size pickup truck. The truck will have hood and grill damage.
DETAILS: Victim was riding a bicycle southbound on Tampania. He failed to stop at the stop sign at West Lemon Street and was struck by a pickup truck travelling eastbound. The victim was ejected onto the roadway. The driver fled without stopping, leaving eastbound from the scene. The victim was transported to Tampa General Hospital and is listed in critical condition with a head injury.
