The Tampa Police Department is actively investigating a shooting involving three teenage victims who are not cooperating with police at this time.  Police officers responded to a shots fired call on March 8 at approximately 8:14 p.m. near East Lake Avenue and North Avon Avenue.  Based on preliminary information from the scene, a group of people were standing near the basketball courts when one or more vehicles drove eastbound on East Lake Avenue from North Florida Avenue.

Shots were fired at the crowd from the direction of the suspect vehicle(s). The bullets struck Michael Johnson, Raekwon Lyles and Tyrell Scott while they were standing in the crowd.  Fire Rescue transported the three victims to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Several detectives responded to the scene immediately after the shooting occurred to assist patrol officers with developing leads that would identify the suspect(s) and vehicle(s) involved in this case.  However, victims and witness are not cooperating with the police investigation at this time.

Detectives are still urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.  Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $3,000 in cash.

The shooting does not appear to be a random act of violence.
