ENTERTAINER CHRIS BROWN ARREST IN PALM BEACH COUNTY ON TAMPA WARRANT

The July 5 arrest of entertainer Christopher M. Brown in Palm Beach County stems from an April 17, 2017 incident at a Tampa night club in which Brown punched a photographer. The warrant was for a charge of felony battery. Palm Beach County records show that Brown was book at 11 p.m. Thursday and released at 11:52 p.m.

DATE/TIME: The Tampa incident occurred on April 17, 2017 at approximately 1 a.m.

LOCATION: Club Aja at 290 S Meridian Avenue, Tampa

DEFENDANT: Christopher Maurice Brown, 29 (DOB: 5-5-89) 

VICTIM: Bennie Louis Vines, 28 (DOB: 2-15-89) 

DETAILS: Vines told Tampa Police that he had been hired to take photographs at the event at Club Aja. Vines told police that Chris Brown was sitting near him and that Brown motioned to Vines to move away. Vines told police he moved away and attempted to tell Brown that he was hired to take pictures of the crowd. Vines and witnesses said Brown then approached Vines, assumed a fighting stance, and punched Vines' upper lip. Brown and his entourage then left the nightclub.

Tampa Police investigated and sent the case to the State Attorney's Office. A warrant was issued on August 11, 2017.
