Fair Housing Seminar to be held April 8

The City of Tampa, in collaboration with the Tampa Bay Fair Housing Partnership, will hold a Fair Housing and Home Ownership seminar on April 8, 2011. The seminar, Fair Housing 2011: Live Free – Without Housing Discrimination, will take place at the Egypt Shriners Activities Center, located at 4050 Dana Shores Drive in Tampa.

The program is open to the public and it will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Advanced registration is required and the cost to participate is $20 per person, which includes continental breakfast and lunch.

The seminar is a great opportunity for housing providers, realtors, property managers, home owners, apartment associations, and the general public to learn from professionals. The topics covered will include: basic fair-housing laws, reasonable accommodations, housing for seniors, foreclosure assistance, and other housing programs.

The Tampa Bay Fair Housing Consortium is a partnership between the cities of Clearwater, Largo, St. Petersburg and Tampa; Hillsborough and Pinellas counties; Bay Area Apartment Association; Bay Area Legal Services; Greater Tampa Association of Realtors; and Gulfcoast Legal Services.
