Fingerprint Leads to Christmas Eve Robbery Suspect?s Arrest

SUSPECT: Alphonzo Webb, B/M, DOB: 9-07-71, At large

VICTIMS: 7-11, 824 West Waters Avenue, Tampa (12/24/2011, 12:31 a.m.)
Circle K, 1410 East Hillsborough Avenue, Tampa (12/24/2011, 6:35 a.m.)
7-11, 4943 East Busch Boulevard, Tampa (12/24/2011, 6:50 a.m.)

DETAILS:

Tampa Police detectives arrested a suspect who robbed three convenience stores during the early morning hours of Christmas Eve. They recovered a fingerprint from the 7-11 on East Busch Boulevard which led them to the identification of a potential suspect, Alphonzo Webb. Further latent investigation connected Webb to the robberies and detectives issued warrants for his arrest. On December 31, 2011, a citizen gave detectives a tip about the vehicle Webb used to commit the robberies. Detectives and Rapid Offender Control (ROC) officers immediately followed up on the information and were able to locate and arrest Webb without incident. Webb confessed to committing all three robberies before being transported to the Orient Road Jail.

DETAILS:
The suspect approached the counter after getting a beverage and demanded money. He implied he had a gun. He left the store with cash from the register. The clerk was not injured. Video of this robbery is available at http://youtu.be/Bh4VOtcIvEM . The suspect walks up the register 13 seconds into the video. The suspect is a black male wearing a red shirt. The other man in the video is NOT involved in the robbery.

WHERE: Circle K, 1410 East Hillsborough Avenue, Tampa

DETAILS:
The suspect approached the counter and handed the clerk a note demanding money. He implied he had a gun. The suspect left the store when the clerk did not immediately give him money. The clerk was not injured. Video of this incident can be located here.

WHEN: 12/24/2011, 6:50 a.m.

WHERE: Circle K, 4943 East Busch Boulevard, Tampa

DETAILS:
The suspect approached the clerk with a note demanding money and he implied he had a gun. The clerk also implied he had a gun. The suspect left the store with nothing. The clerk was not injured. Video of this incident here.
