Sulphur Springs Revitalization

In April 2016, RTTB was awarded the RFP to develop and manage construction of Phase II of Sulphur Springs development.   The development of Phase II will add to the ongoing revitalization of the Sulphur Springs Community and will create 24 homeownership opportunities for Tampa citizens/families. All homes constructed must be occupied by persons earning at or below 120% AMI.

“As one of Tampa’s oldest neighborhoods, Sulphur Springs had been devastated as a result of the Great Recession,” said Mayor Bob Buckhorn.  “Drugs, foreclosures, abandoned houses and escalating crime rates had taken its toll prior to the Nehemiah Project and the intervention of many of our social service partners.

“Now, Sulphur Springs has begun to rebound led by the construction of new affordable housing on properties where abandoned housing once stood. Families are now returning to Sulphur Springs and to help us rebuild and restore a great neighborhood. I can’t wait to see what the next chapter in the history of the Springs brings us.”
