Homicide Detectives Actively Investigating Shooting that Left Billiards Patron Deceased

DATE/TIME: March 24, 2013 at 2:48 a.m.

LOCATION: 1102 East Busch Boulevard, Tampa

VICTIM: Benge Carlos Bennett, B/M, DOB: 6/23/82


DETAILS:

Tampa Police detectives are seeking information on a shooting that left one man deceased over the weekend. The victim was leaving Fatso’s Billiard, located at 1010 East Busch Boulevard, with a group of friends and relatives around 2:48 a.m. Shortly after the group started walking towards their vehicle, which was parked behind an adjacent business, an officer who was patrolling the area heard gunshots. The officer quickly responded to the parking lot behind Jon’s Bridal and observed patrons fleeing the area and the victim lying next to a vehicle. The victim was transferred to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Detectives are actively working to identify the suspect(s) involved in the early morning shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130.

**Previous Release**

At 0250 hours, Tampa Police Officers responded to 1010 E. Busch Blvd in reference to shots being fired.

Officers arrived and found a B/M on the ground who was a victim of a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical condition. He has not been identified.

At this time there are no suspects.
