Joint Operation with Tampa Police and ABT Targets Liquor Store Selling Viagra

DATE/TIME:  7/6/2011 at 5:30 p.m.

LOCATION: OK Liquor Store, 3607 North Nebraska Avenue, Tampa

SUSPECT:  Douglas Dale Arp, W/M, DOB 10-04-1955, 1213 E. Palifox St, Tampa

The Tampa Police Department received a tip that prescription pills were being sold from the drive-thru window of the OK Liquor Store, located at 3607 N. Nebraska Ave. Undercover officers drove to the window and made three separate purchases of Viagra pills for $16 each. A search warrant was conducted on the business this evening at 5:30 pm and officers recovered 43 Viagra pills and 9 Cialias pills. The pills were being illegally mailed to the liquor store from Canada. Additionally, in excess of $20,000 dollars was seized as the money was derived from illegal means.

One of the employees who sold pills to the officers was Dale Arp.  He was arrested on scene and charged with Possession of Certain Drugs without a Prescription. He was in possession of marijuana at the time of his arrest.

Additional arrests are expected as the investigation goes forward. ABT was on scene and will issue a Revocation of the liquor license for the establishment.
