MacDill Avenue Open for Local Traffic Only December 9 to 16 for Construction - Through traffic will be detoured via Bay to Bay Boulevard, Dale Mabry Highway, and Gandy Boulevard

Over the past year, the City of Tampa has been working on the Alline Avenue Pump Station project to resolve a long-standing flooding issue in the neighborhood. This project represents a $5.1 million investment and includes significant upgrades to the stormwater drainage and wastewater collection systems, and roadway improvements.

As part of this project, storm-sewer improvements on MacDill Avenue between Asbury Place and Coachman Avenue are scheduled to begin on Sunday, December 9, 2012. The City's contractor will work extended hours to help ensure completion by December 16, 2012. Due to the nature of the work and location of the system within the roadway, MacDill Avenue will be closed to through traffic for this period. During the closure, traffic will be detoured around the work zone utilizing Bay to Bay Boulevard, Dale Mabry Highway, and Gandy Boulevard. Local traffic accessing businesses and residences within the closure will be maintained throughout the duration of construction. Your patience and understanding with the inconvenience of construction will be greatly appreciated.
