Mayor Buckhorn Congratulates Local Little League Teams on Successful Summer

Mayor Buckhorn offered his congratulations and best wishes to three Tampa little league teams that have brought trophies home to the city and are continuing to compete on regional and national levels.

The North Tampa Little League All Stars, a team of talented 11-year old players, were triumphant last month in Chesterfield, Virginia, winning the Bronco-11 Pony World Series Baseball trophy. The New Tampa All Stars, who clinched the State title in with a 6-1 defeat over Kendall-Miami last week, are heading to Little League Southeast Regional Tournament in Warner Robins, GA today. Palma Ceia/West Tampa Little League Softball All Stars are advancing to the Little League World Series in Kirkland, Washington next week to represent the Southeast after securing the regional title last week.

"I look forward to welcoming Tampa's winning teams back and congratulating them on a job well done. These young players are continuing Tampa's great tradition of baseball. They have represented our city honorably with their hard work and commitment to success," said Mayor Buckhorn.
