Metropolitan Ministries providing 500 meals to residents of Robles Park as they recover from Hurricane Irma. This afternoon, beginning at 6:00 p.m. volunteers will distribute boxed meals to individuals and families awaiting restoration of their power.

“Tampa was spared the worst of Hurricane Irma but thousands of people in our City are still left without power. Thanks to the service and generosity of Metropolitan Ministries, 500 less people will be worried about where to get a meal tonight,” said Mayor Bob Buckhorn. “Throughout our city we are seeing neighbors, businesses, and non-profits stepping up to take care of those in need. We need your patience. We are all in this together.”

“Metropolitan Ministries is honored to be hope to Tampa Bay after Irma,” said Metropolitan Ministries President and CEO, Tim Marks. “Our entire team chipped in to help make 500 sandwiches from our social enterprise, Inside the Box, in just three hours to help neighbors in need. We appreciate Mayor Buckhorn reaching out to Metropolitan Ministries for a high-quality, healthy to-go sandwich. Because of the support of generous donors we were able to provide the meal to the city at no cost.”
