With available parking and restrooms as well as the new playground, Cypress Point Park anchors the Tampa side of the Courtney Campbell Trail.

The playground compliments other new amenities and improvements made along the Courtney Campbell Trail. In addition to the playground at Cypress Point Park, the City of Tampa has also repaired the seawall as well as installed a new restroom and concession building at Ben T. Davis Beach.

Additional comfort/rest stations with shade and weather structures, drinking fountains, benches, bike racks, and trash receptacles; security cameras; and, new landscaping will be installed. Funding for these amenities will come from Hillsborough County.

The new 3,330 sq. ft. play area contains 6 play features for children ages 2-12. The playground features rope climbers, a see-saw, and individual spinners. Rubber surfacing is strategically placed for universal access to the equipment while the remainder of the play area is engineered wood mulch. Construction began in November of 2013. The playground cost $100,000 and was paid for with CIT funds.
