Mayor Buckhorn Unveils Neighborhood Tree Watch Program- June 22 @ 10 a.m.

In partnership with THAN, the City of Tampa is launching the Neighborhood Tree Watch Program on Wednesday, June 22 at 10 a.m. with Mayor Buckhorn and members of Tampa City Council. The unveiling of the first Neighborhood Tree Watch sign will be held at the intersection of Bayshore Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue.

The purpose of the Neighborhood Tree Watch Program is to:
1. Teach citizen to identify the "protected" tree species and Grand Trees
2. Provide citizens with a better understanding of Tampa's regulations and codes applicable to neighborhood trees
3. Assist in identifying violations involving the removal or trimming of protected or grand trees
4. Provide continuing education on pruning, tree biology, planting (right tree in right place) to associations members

The program is administered by THAN and implemented through the neighborhood associations throughout the City of Tampa.
