Mayor Castor Hosts ‘Bridges to Business’ Vendor Certification Tour at Forest Hills Park Community Center

Tampa Mayor Jane Castor is taking steps to make doing business with the city more convenient for local business owners.  For the fourth time, City staff from the Purchasing Department and the Minority and Small Business Development Office will take to Tampa’s neighborhoods to register companies with the City of Tampa..

The goal of the “Bridges to Business” Vendor Certification Tour is to meet entrepreneurs in the communities where they serve in an effort to connect them with basic information that has the potential to lead to government contract work or jobs opportunities with prime contractors and non-profits.  The fourth stop on the tour will take place October 19th, at the Forest Hills Park Community Center from 9 AM – 12 PM.

During that timeframe, business owners or their representatives can learn the ins and outs of doing business with the city.  Staff will be on-site to walk firms through the application process for minority, woman-owned, or small business certification.  Prime contractors and non-profit organizations will also be on hand to provide information current projects.

We, as a City, are committed to continuing to uplift through education, best practices, and resources.”
