Media Advisory - Photo Opportunity - Creation Process of Public Art for Zack Street Promenade of the Arts

What: Tampa Artist Susan Gott will be creating molds for
her cast glass artwork that will be installed on Zack
Street as part of the Promenade of the Arts. Gott’s final
artwork will be large-scale cast glass panels that will function
as a "green screen" at two selected sites. Gott will be creating
molds for casting from objects that are within context to the
site and are located at the nearby cultural institutions, the
Tampa Theatre and the H.B. Plant Museum.

Who: Artist Susan Gott’s work is internationally recognized and can be
found in museums, important collections and notable galleries,
as well as numerous public art collections. She earned a Master
of Fine Arts degree in glass from Kent State University,
undergraduate degree from Radford University, and furthered
her studies in glass at the Pilchuck Glass School, Haystack,
Arrowmont, and Penland Schools. Susan has completed notable
large scale public artworks using cast glass including sculpture,
bas-relief panels, lighting, fountains, and seating.
