FCI Residential, a division of Florida Crystals Corporation, will break ground on a new residential project in downtown Tampa’s Channel District next Wednesday morning.

The FCI Residential property is set to transform into a new eight story mid-rise residential building featuring 300 units with a six-and-a-half story parking garage. The South Florida company brings art deco inspired architecture to the project. Retail space will greet pedestrians near the building’s entrance fronting Kennedy Boulevard.

Case Contracting Company, known in the Channel District for their work on the Slade, an adjacent residential project, will oversee construction.

The building’s construction is another step in the Channel District’s evolution into a complete live, work, and play neighborhood. In 2016, the City of Tampa will undertake construction on a new park along Madison Street to further that change.

Renderings are available for download at in the folder marked “FCI Channel District Residences.”
