Media Advisory - Photo Opportunity - Mayor Buckhorn, Tampa Bay Lightning to Dye Garrison Channel “Bolts Blue” Tomorrow

The City of Tampa in partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning will dye the Garrison Channel, adjacent to the Amalie Arena, a bright, “Bolts Blue” on Saturday, June 6, 2015 prior to Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals in support of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Mayor Bob Buckhorn with join the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Dave Andreychuk and Thunderbug at Cotanchobee Park Pier to sound the horn and begin dyeing at 5 p.m.

The Garrison Channel is roughly bounded by Harbour Island Bridge to the west and Beneficial Bridge to the east. The dye is potable water grade, non-toxic, and biodegradable.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will reimburse the city for all costs associated with the dyeing.
