MEDIA ADVISORY: Tampa Mayors to Cut Ribbon on Kennedy Segment of Tampa Riverwalk - Public invited to celebrate grand opening
WHAT: | Mayor Bob Buckhorn will join Tampa’s former mayors as well as Congresswoman Kathy Castor and U.S. Department of Transportation Under Secretary for Policy Peter Rogoff to cut the ribbon and celebrate the grand opening of the Kennedy Segment of the Tampa Riverwalk. The public is invited to the ribbon cutting as well as celebrate with festivities along the riverfront lasting throughout the evening. Following the formal ribbon cutting ceremony, children of all ages are invited to stroll the Tampa Riverwalk before enjoying a special screening of “Dolphin Tale,” which will begin at 8 p.m. in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. Food truck vendors and other entertainment, including special guests from Lowry Park Zoo and Florida Aquarium, will also be onsite. Blue Bell Ice Cream will be serve free cups of hand-dipped ice cream, including its signature Homemade Vanilla flavor. “The Plank,” Tampa’s first waterfront pop-up bar, will also open along the Riverwalk. |
