This month on Spotlight Tampa, we get our first look at USF Health’s new Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS). UT’s lacrosse team took to the field for the first time ever. The Urban Land Institute Daniel Rose Center for Leadership conducted a study in Tampa pertaining to our wonderful riverfront. The 24th Annual City of Tampa Black History Celebration took place at the Tampa Convention Center. This year’s theme was "Reining in Finance: Reshaping the American Dream." We meet some of the scientists of tomorrow at the Hillsborough County Science Fair. HART shows us a car-free way to get around Westshore, Downtown Tampa and Ybor City. We get a preview of the 4th Annual Cigar City Brewing Criterium, an urban bike race with 600 cyclists traveling at speeds up to 40 miles per hour. Chief Jane Castor and Tampa Police Department's Black History Committee recognized the Florida Sentinel, Sgt. Kenny Norris, Sisters Breast Cancer Network and community activist Queen Miller during its 24th Annual Black History Celebration at the Ragan Park Community Center. Busch Gardens’ biggest ice show ever, ICEploration, inspires audiences to explore the world on a journey to the four corners of the earth: the Serengeti, the Great Barrier Reef, the Arctic and the rainforest. And the Hillsborough County Extension Office gives us a lesson in canning.
