Narcotic Detectives Bust Second Clinic

LOCATION: Busch Pain Clinic, 10220 North 30th Street, Tampa, Florida
SUSPECT: Dr. Albert Elsworth Ford, DOB: 7/5/36, W/M, 5416 Village Lane, Land O'Lakes, Florida (Doctor)
CHARGES: Writing a Prescription for Controlled Substance through Deception, Untruthfulness or Fraud
During the months of June and July in 2011, undercover officers and a confidential informant posed as patients at the Busch Pain Clinic. Their visits were recorded on video tape and audio. The cases were reviewed by Florida Board Certified Pain Management Doctors who determined Dr. Albert Ford was operating outside the standard of care. He would significantly overstate the patient's level of pain and impairment, conducted inadequate medical exams and falsified medical records to justify the prescribing of Oxycodone. On July 7th, 2011, detectives arrested the clinic manager and another employee. The investigation culminated on 11/2/11, with the arrest of Dr. AlbertFord.
