Starting at 9am on January 11, the northbound lane at the intersection of S Himes Avenue and S Randall Street, (located near the Himes Avenue entrance to Britton Plaza), is closing  while department crews repair a sewer lateral. Northbound access for local traffic and emergency services will be maintained at all times. Detours will be in place at W Gandy Boulevard for motorists traveling northbound on S Himes Avenue. There will be no changes to southbound traffic. Barricades and signage will be in place to assist with rerouting and traffic flow. The completion date for this repair, with a return to normal traffic patterns is January 13, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. A hi-resolution map showing the City of Tampa’s suggested detour route is embedded below.
