VEHICLE: Stolen/Recovered: 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass, white in color, Fla tag 468-KUS.

The above listed vehicle was stolen from the victim's residence sometime overnight on 1/24/2013. At approx 8:50 a.m. on today's date the vehicle was observed pulling into and parking within "Patriot Park" at 3001 Bayshore Boulevard. Plain-clothes officers were actively surveilling this location at the time to combat an ongoing pattern of auto burglaries there. An officer observed the vehicle back up in between some vehicles along the southern fence line of the property. The vehicle passenger then exited the vehicle and crouched next to an adjacent car. He then put his hands up to the window and began surveying the contents of the car. He quickly jumped back into the stolen vehicle, which then quickly exited the premises when a civilian city vehicle with emblems entered the property. The stolen vehicle drove around a police vehicle that was pulling up to attempt the trap maneuver. The vehicle then proceeded north on Bayshore Boulevard, where it was monitored by air service. Police vehicles remained many blocks away to prevent a pursuit due to ongoing preparations for the Gasparilla Parade. The stolen vehicle subsequently turned north on Rome Avenue and struck a tree upon attempting a right hand turn onto Richardson Avenue. Both occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. A comprehensive perimeter was established with the assistance of air service and motorcycle officers and K-9 officers. Defendant Justin George was arrested when a homeowner observed him hiding on the back porch within a fully enclosed back yard. Defendant Jeremy Holloway was arrested hiding in the yard of another home by K-9 officers. Both defendants were transported to District 1 to be interviewed by detectives before being transported to Orient Road Jail.
