Police Arrest Security Guard on Attempted Murder Charges in Weekend Shooting

ARREST DATE/TIME: 5/23/2011 at 5:15 pm

ARREST LOCATION: 1001 Pinehaven Court Brandon

SUSPECT: Carlos A.Catalan-Flores, H/M, DOB: 09/14/84, 1001 Pinehaven Court Brandon

CHARGES: Attempted Murder (second degree)

DETAILS: Homicide Detectives used witness statements and physical evidence to develop probable cause for the suspect's arrest late this afternoon. The Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the U.S. Marshals Office responded to the suspect's Brandon home where he was arrested without incident. The suspect was working as a security guard at the club Flash Dancers when the victim threw a bottle at him. The bottle did not hit the suspect, but he responded by shooting the victim as he was fleeing from the club.

Tampa Police is investigating a shooting at Flash Dancers Club

When: 5/21/2011 @ 2:59 AM

Where: 4202 W. Cayuga St.

A patron was leaving the Flash Dancers Club when he became involved in an altercation with the security guard. The patron threw a beer bottle at the security guard, but missed him. The security guard fired his weapon at the victim, striking him twice. The patron sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital to undergo surgery. Homicide detectives responded out and are currently investigating the incident. Criminal charges in this case are pending a thorough investigation by the Homicide Detectives.
