Police Department Recognized for Military Support

The Tampa Police Department joined 47,000 employers across the nation that have pledged to stand behind employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve force. Judge Gregory Holder presented Chief Jane Castor with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve’s (ESGR) Patriot Award on October 14th. The recognition is given to employers that have gone above and beyond to accommodate employees who are on active duty in the military. Tampa Police Officer Christopher Audet nominated the department for the award. He is a member of the Florida National Guard, which is part of the U.S. Army and recently completed a one-year assignment in Iraq.
