Tampa police dispatch received a call around 9:45 pm regarding a child found in the road at 109th and Florida Avenue. A witness said the child came from a car. The child was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. We do not have an identity of the child and we do not have an age. He is a young black male. At this time, we don't have any reports of a missing child or a car description. Detectives are looking for video on area red light cameras and business cameras.

Florida Avenue is closed from Fowler to Bougenvilla for the next couple of hours. Unless there is a investigative update, there will not be any additional information until the morning.

Detectives have identified the young male that was expelled from a vehicle as B/M Marterrance Albury D.O.B. 05/24/2010. The child is deceased and next-of kin has been notified.
The suspect vehicle is possible a green 2001-2004 Ford Expedition last seen heading southbound on N. Florida Ave. from 109Th Ave.
Detectives are still actively investigating.
